2009, Feb 7 From Lori Barbier.When I arrived, I was exhausted, stale, toxic. Your exotic Island Hideaway served as a restorative for this broken down bodyworker for really needed career stimulation and guidance. A fresh approach to the work and some new material, time to research and write, continuing education credit, bodywork, downtime, an absence of structure and "face time". I GOT IT ALL. David was as pleased and delighted and restored by the stay AS I WAS. Thanks for making it all happen and not "making" it all happen at the same time. The great aquatic library (both paper and electronic), the setup for convenient use and the quiet made for a little learning sanctuary. I can still see the palms passing shadows as the sun filters in. David really enjoyed Jim's lending library and just Jim. I've already called Grace and plugged the place for she and Henry, who would be returning students too. Can't say enough but should close for now. Split Level Home

Do you like split level homes?
We have 5 levels: 1.) the seawall with its hammock surrounded by lush landscaping, weaving gazebo, sand beach with palm tree, patio, swing set (for 3) and 2 lounge chairs and barbeque with dining area for four.
2.)The next level is our "front" yard with walkways surrounded by two bonsai gardens, palm trees, seagrape, buttonwood and includes our "laundry room/tool shed" with extensive outdoor clothes lines, an outdoor shower, outdoor gazebo/massage space, a couple more lounge chairs and outdoor dining area for six.
3.)The next level is our indoor/outdoor space which includes two bedrooms and entranceway with jalopee (sp?) windows, two bedrooms and a sixteen foot round pool with screens.
4.) The fourth level is the traditional living space with two bedrooms, beautifully detailed - finished carpentry office and kitchen which includes one large refrigerator and four small ones. There is a bathroom with shower/tub, toilet, two sinks and extensive storage space. At #8 are three more bedrooms, bathroom, living room & kitchen (with one big and three small fridges).
5.) And if all that is not enough for two people to maintain, we have an additional level which consists of a thirty-seven foot house-boat right on the water. Only two small fridges here, but room to sleep five! and two office spaces.

Swim in the turquoise Caribbean from our site. Relax in style as you watch the sun rise out of the ocean. How about thousands of square feet of indoor/outdoor living space, instead of hundreds of square feet in a hotel room? Now you can enjoy hundreds of feet of oceanfront property with a perfect dock for that big boat. You'll be out fishing in minutes from our quaint Coral Key Village. Marathon is in the heart of the Florida Keys and there are lots of activities and attractions. We are 1.5 hours from the Miami airport and 1 hour from Key West.
Spacious accommodation for four. The rent is $3,000 per month.

Our home is vintage 60s Keys style restored by its owner, who is a builder and landscape architect. The lush tropical landscaping surrounds a site adjacent to a beautiful white sand beach.

Waterfront terraces and decks provide space for quiet contemplation and meditation.

The grounds include: 2 outside dining areas, a gas grill,a massage table (you can just barely see it under the gazebo) and numerous lounge chairs for relaxing and sunbathing.

Inside areas include: 4 separate sleeping spaces, (3 Queens, 1 Double) a living room with entertainment center and WiFi internet access, a full kitchen and bathroom with an additional outside shower.

No shoes or smoking indoors please.
No children under 14. No animals.
